The Year of the Rat, 2020, will be remembered for many reasons. From one crisis to another, the aftershock will take long to recover. Apart from the Coronavirus (COVID- 19) that has hit humankind with grave consequences, the world still faces trade wars, territorial disputes, demonstrations, riots, racism, inequalities, terrorism, migration, and climate destruction.

With the launch of the Bangkok Art Biennale on the theme of Escape Routes, Bangkok has become one of the few cities to proceed with an international art event during the pandemic in 2020.

Bangkok Art Biennale Symposium 1 starts the series of discussion by scholars, critics, writers, artists on issues of art and survival. Topics related to the New Normal range from climate change, diaspora, cultural power, identity politics, participatory art, art economics, art resistance and submission.

Meanwhile, Kassandra, the Collapsologyst Oracle, has not ceased to assume the guardian of our tomorrow drama and decay. As the permanent tenant of this mycelium shelter, extracting its flourishing medicinal mushrooms, she digests the antidote to her forgetfulness, her loss of memory, her inability to remember her predictive visions.... Our future seems spoiled.... On the side, she triggers the cycle of robotic, repetitive throbbing humification processes, via a ‘male’ machinist AI, with which she whispers her feminist rumblings , her doubts, her amnesia, something as a intentional loss of flavors... and suspended time... passes... in the boredom of her daily routine...
