Miles Greenberg, born in Montreal, Canada in 1997 and based now between Paris and New York, is a performance artist and researcher of corporal movement. His practice centres around romanticized explorations of the Black body in space through large-scale durational performance installations. These performances last often between five and eight hours at a time. Each performance is presented more so as a fixed architectural proposition that develops over time rather than a linear narrative with beginning and end.
Mostly self-taught, from age seventeen onwards Greenberg completed a number of artistic/research residencies in lieu of formal education, including most notably École Jacques Lecoq in Paris, Red Gate Gallery Beijing and Long Island’s Watermill Center. During March/April of 2019, he was the inaugural in-house resident of Palais de Tokyo's new performance art residency, La Manutention.
Greenberg has exhibited internationally, most recently: HÆMOTHERAPY (I) (Reena Spaulings Fine Art, New York, 2020); PNEUMOTHERAPY (II) (Galerie Perrotin, New York, 2020) and ALPHAVILLE NOIR (Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 2019).
