The project A Testament to Love (2013), is a narrative about the struggles of life when love goes wrong. Each image is set in a cinematic background inspired by the style of locations and lighting in Hollywood films from the 1960s and '70s. The women in Fullerton-Batten’s images wrestle with the eternal search for a happy ending, but find themselves left with feelings of solitude, loneliness, fear, regret and resignation. Are they being followed or are they followers? Or maybe they’re just looking for a way out. Fullerton-Batten usually captures moments just before or after the climax of the scenario. These scenarios are laden with emotion and tension and leave the viewer with more questions than answers.
