In THIS ONE IS ON US, (2020) Teruya and Havenstein invite the audience to have a drink of traditional white spirits shots while watching political debates from all over the Pacific. The setting of the bar makes direct reference to the mutual origin of the two drinks served, which is a result of 600 years of bilateral relationship between Okinawa and Ayutthaya through maritime trade routes. This relationship, nowadays ceased through political change and shifting trade routes in the Pacific, is once again united at the new bar. In a time of political disruption, trade wars and instability, the bar aims to be a platform to inspire mutual understanding, discourse and a celebration of the things that unite us.
