YOU LEAD ME DOWN, TO THE OCEAN, 2018 is a mesmerizing 16-minute 2-channel video filmed underwater off the coast of Narathiwat, southern Thailand. Hengsapkul embarked upon research on 25 army tanks bought from China by the Thai army that were abandoned at the bottom of the ocean. Unfit for combat and defunct as metal scraps, these Thai tanks function as part of the artificial reef and tourist attraction for the province. Majestically, the war machine covered with rust and reef is surrounded by schools of exotic fish and support maritime life. Hengsapkul’s submerged Thai tanks is a reminder of past history during the Vietnam War.
ผลงาน YOU LEAD ME DOWN, TO THE OCEAN ในปี พ.ศ. 2561 เป็นผลงานวิดีโอสองช่องความยาว 16 นาทีที่ถ่ายทำใต้น้ำนอกชายฝั่งจังหวัดนราธิวาส ภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย ธาดาออกเดินทางวิจัยรถถังของกองทัพบก 25 คันที่กองทัพไทยซื้อจากประเทศจีนและทิ้งลงก้นมหาสมุทรเนื่องจากรถถังไม่เหมาะสำหรับการรบและสิ้นสภาพกลายเป็นเพียงเศษโลหะ ในปัจจุบันรถถังดังกล่าวทำหน้าที่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของแนวปะการังเทียมและแหล่งท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัด อดีตอาวุธสงครามตอนนี้ปกคลุมไปด้วยสนิมและปะการัง ล้อมรอบไปด้วยฝูงปลาและสนับสนุนสิ่งมีชีวิตในทะเล ผลงานรถถังไทยที่จมอยู่ใต้น้ำของเขาจึงเป็นการรำลึกถึงประวัติศาสตร์ในช่วงสงครามเวียดนาม
