For BAB 2020 Erlich presents a new work, Class Room (2020), a complex interactive installation of a classroom in semi darkness that looks into the adjacent room through the two-way mirror. Viewers see their own reflections momentarily trapped in their mirror image. Erlich plays with illusion that triggers memories and time warp of youth and adolescence. Passing through the threshold, the viewers venture into the abandoned classroom containing decrepit desks, chairs and blackboard. Reciprocating with time, the classroom is reverted to the past or forecast into the future. Either way, the exit from Erlich’s classroom leads us back to grim reality. Appropriately, this installation reminds us of the troubled world as children and parents are coping at the time of COVID-19.
สำหรับงานบางกอกอาร์ตเบียนนาเล่ ลีอันโดรจะนำเสนอผลงานชิ้นใหม่ภายใต้ชื่อ Class Room ผลงานศิลปะจัดวางอินเตอร์แอคทีฟในรูปแบบห้องเรียนกึ่งมืดที่เล่นกับภาพลวงตาที่กระตุ้นความทรงจำและช่วงเวลาที่แปรปรวนของวัยหนุ่มสาว โดยจะให้ผู้ชมมองผ่านกระจกสองทางเข้าไปในห้องที่อยู่ติดกัน ซึ่งจะทำให้เห็นภาพสะท้อนของตนเองติดอยู่ในภาพสะท้อนในกระจกชั่วขณะหนึ่ง เมื่อก้าวผ่านประตูเข้ามา ผู้ชมจะพบกับห้องเรียนที่ถูกทิ้งร้าง ภายในมีโต๊ะ เก้าอี้และกระดานดำที่ชำรุดทรุดโทรม ห้องเรียนจะตอบสนองกับเวลา ฉายภาพสลับไปมาระหว่างอดีตกับอนาคต แต่ไม่ว่าภาพที่ฉายจะเป็นอดีตหรืออนาคต การออกจากห้องเรียนจะพาเรากลับมาสู่ความจริงอันน่ากลัว ศิลปะจัดวางนี้ทำให้เรานึกถึงโลกที่ทั้งเด็กและผู้ใหญ่กำลังประสบกับความยากลำบากในช่วงการระบาดใหญ่ของโรคโควิด-19
